LeEco, lately known for their electric car LeSee rather than smartphones are ready for a fresh premiere. They are said to be prepping a Snapdragon 823-based smartphone for unveiling during MWC Shanghai this month.

That premiere is theoretical, since we also know that ASUS has one such model ready, as a variation of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. LeEco’s device could bring as much as 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 25 megapixel camera sensor, or at least that’s the maximum hardware setup supported by the chipset on board. This would dwarf even the Galaxy Note 7 by comparison.

The same chip brings an Adreno 530 GPU, X12 LTE baseband and Category 12/13 support. The Snapdragon 820 is already a powerful chip, but the S823 takes it up a notch, increasing frequency from 2.15 GHz up to 3 GHz. Expect to hear more about the device as we approach the end of the month and the new MWC.
