Lenovo has introduced a new budget phone, dubbed the K3 in China and this model costs as little as $96. This unit is quite the looker, with its colorful case looking very much like the one of a Lumia.
The device was listed on a Chinese online retailer, JD, with the price tag of $96 and this model is meant as a direct rival for Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S smartphone. Interestingly, the shop mentioned before, JD, sells the device with another name, the Lenovo K3 Music Lemon, promoting it as a music phone. Lenovo K3 comes with a 5 inch HD display with IPS panel, a 7.9 mm thick case and a quad core Snapdragon 410 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz.
It also has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. The specs sound incredibly good for a sub $100 phone, so you’re probably wondering where’s the catch. Things get even better, since the K3 also comes with an 8 megapixel back camera, a 2 megapixel front shooter and a 2300 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Redmi 1S offers half the storage, a smaller screen and an older CPU.
