After finding out that the Lenovo Vibe X2 handset was ready for launch in India, it’s time for the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro to get the same treatment. The handset will be launched on October 1st and it’s a big deal, because it’s a Quad HD phone.

Lenovo India has sent invites to a press event on October 1st, but it will also be holding one on September 30 in New Delhi. The invite doesn’t mention the Vibe Z2 Pro by name, but there’s a silhouette in the invite and the tagline “Make Way for the Pro”, that pretty much dispell the mystery. The product was introduced in August and it’s the current flagship phone of the company, including specs like a 6 inch 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a Snapdragon 801 quad core processor and 3 GB of RAM.

It also 32 GB of storage, Android 4.4 as the OS, a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front shooter, as well as a 4000 mAh battery. The price tag is expected to be well over $700 and this unit is also pretty elegant, sporting a metallic body, that measures only 7.7 mm in thickness, which is great for such a big diagonal.
