LG CX2, yet another new smarpthone that made the news together with the quad core LG handset is looking at a rebranding. This 3D phone that follows in the footsteps of the LG Optimus 3D will bear the name of LG 3D Max, if our information is correct. This model is expected to be unveiled in Barcelona, at MWC 2012 next month if everything goes well.
Don’t expect too many improvements on the original handset, except for some minor hardware upgrade and a thinner case profile. This new 3D phone by LG will use a 1.2GHz dual core Texas Instruments processor, an auto stereoscopic 4.3 inch glasses free WVGA display of the NOVA kind and dual 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and support for 3D capture. There’s also 8GB of internal memory available, plus DLNA, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC and support for HSPA with speeds of up to 21 Mbps.
Together with the LG 3D Max we expect the LG X3 quad core Tegra 3 phone we’ve heard about last week. Both models are expected with Gingerbread and will probably be launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 3D one will hit the stores this Spring.
