LG Nexus 4 and HTC Droid DNA are the hottest Android devices right now, with the same powerful CPUs on board, but the Droid DNA has a cooler display, a Full HD one. Everyone wants to know what device is better, especially since both share the same CPU and amount of RAM: 2 GB. Apparently, the Droid DNA has the upper hand in most of the benchmarks detailed below…
As usual, benchmarks are synthetic and they aren’t necessarily reflected in day to day use. Nexus 4 scores 4870 points in Quadrant, while the Droid DNA scores a crazy 8142 points, if you can believe it. It’s very strange to see that the CPU points aren’t the same, since we are dealing with the same CPU after all… Droid DNA triumphs again, with about 1000 points extra in the Smartbench test. In Vellamo the HTML5 test reveals yet another double score for Droid DNA, with 1751 points versus the Nexus 4 954 points.
And finally in AnTuTu, the Droid DNA scores 14k points, while Nexus 4 is stuck at 10k. Of course, the Nexus 4 has the advantage of getting the latest Android faster and while the Droid DNA may still be stuck at Jelly Bean 4.1 even in Spring 2013, the Nexus 4 will already be preparing for the next version. If benchmarks really matter for you, you probably hate the Nexus 4 right now and hate it more for its lack of LTE… so do you, hate it that is?
