Canadians will be pleased to know that a week from now they will be purchasing one of the few HD display handsets on the market. Right now there are three: HTC Rezound, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the LG newcomer, known as LG Nitro HD or LG Optimus LTE in other parts of the world.

Nitro HD will be launched on November 22nd on Bell, packing a 1280 x 720 pixel display, a 1.5GHZ Dual core display, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording and front cam. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the OS of choice, but an upgrade to Android 4.0 in the future is very likely. The picture above was the one leaked, that started the rumors and it also brought us the news that the device will cost $149.95. It’s a very reasonable offer for a smartphone with these specs…

In the USA, this handset will come as the LG Nitro HD, via AT&T, but the launch date and price are unknown. There’s also a live picture of the handset below, in case you’re interested. Considering the fact that another name for this phone is LG Optimus LTE, is there any chance to get LTE connectivity on it?
