All of you LG Optimus handset owners rejoice! The Android 2.3 Gingerbread update has finally been released for your devices. While recently we found out bad news for the LG Optimus 2X owners (no Android 4.0 support), at least you can find comfort in the Gingerbread release.

Europe is first and also first is the LG Optimus 2X, that should have already been updated today. Next up, the LG Optimus 3D will get updated on November 21, followed by the Optimus Black, getting its own fresh software on November 28. After Europe, the rollout will begin globally, according to the LG Facebook page.

Some people are commenting on Facebook that the LG Optimus 2X won’t get the update OTA or through the updater, as there are some problems and delays right now. Of course, if you’re an owner of the very first dual core smartphone in the world, feel free to comment below and detail your experience with the update.
