Phone Scoop got their hands on an LG Rumor 2 unit and reviewed it for us all to watch. It turns out that the device is a great messaging and email-oriented phone and that it’s a pretty solid LG handset overall. More info and the full review, in the video below:

LG Rumor 2 is a sideways slider that upgrades the first Rumor handset sold by Sprint in 2008. The phone’s got a numeric keypad and a full QWERTY keyboard, ideal for texting. This device has a good feel to it, it’s comfortable and its build quality is solid, plus the sliding mechanism is quite good.

On the side of the LG Rumor 2 you’ll find a dedicated camera key, a microSD slot, a 2.5mm headset jack, while at the back there’s a camera and speaker. The QWERTY keyboard comes with 4 rows of keys, including a smiley key that brings up a variety of emoticons. The menu of this phone looks quite old, for a 2009 phone and supports the grid or list view.

Also, you’ll use the screen in landscape or portrait mode, even if you’re texting, writing emails or taking pictures. Various POP email clients are supported, like Yahoo, Gmail or AOL and you can even add your own, if you don’t find what you need on the list. The camera is fairly good, but sadly it doesn’t support video recording, unlike the first LG Rumor.

We’re dealing with a pretty good mid-level phone here, that makes an excellent option for those looking to spend a little and still get quality devices.
