Maxx Mobile has debuted a new ultra affordable handset in India, the MSD7 Smarty AXD21 model, with a 4 inch display and Android 4.4 KitKat on board. This model is priced at $66 and it’s actually the company’s first KitKat phone.
It relies on a 4 inch WVGA screen, a 1 GHz dual core MediaTek processor and a 3.2 megapixel main camera with LED flash and VGA front camera. There’s dual SIM support, 3G connectivity and also a bunch of preloaded services and apps. Those include Wechat, Gameloft Games, Hungama, FLipkart, OLX, MAXX Care, MAXX World, MAXX New Launch and more. The phone uses 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and it has a microSD card slot, plus a 1450 mAh battery.
We also find a leather-like finish at the back and the AX21 is offered in partnership with local retailer Snapdeal. I should also mention that we get a 0.3 MP front camera, FM radio with RDS, HSPA+, aGPS, Glonass and Bluetooth 4.0. Smarty AXD21 measures 10.10 mm in thickness and weighs 109.3 grams.
