Today, the Chinese producer MediaTek (MTK) announced its new true octa-core chip called MT6795, a 64-bit processor that uses eight Cortex A53 cores and that offers a clock speed of 2.2 GHz. This launch comes after a week when we found out that MediaTek prepares two new octa-core chips, the MT6595, and the MT6595.

This chip offers dual-channel LPDDR3 933 MHz memory, and LTE Cat. 4  connectivity (150 Mbps – download / 50 Mbps – upload). According to the company, this chip is expected to show up in phones at the end of the 2014. MediaTek MT6595 also supports Quad HD displays with a 2.560 x 1.600 pixels resolution.

A display like this can produce a 120 Hz refresh rate, and offers 4K video playback and 30fps decoding in H.264 and H.265. Also, devices with this chip inside will be able to video record in H.265 (4K2K).
