Meebo just announced the release of a special instant messaging solution for mobile phones running on Android platform. There are high chances that the number of such devices will increase in the future, so it turns out to be pretty smart of them to think about it in advance.

The meebo version for Android stays active in the background, while the user has the possibility of running other applications. Any incoming messages or alerts will be displayed on the system tray, just like it happens when using most chatting software.

Just as many things usually come with open platforms, the software is free and can be downloaded from Android Market directly from the user’s own T-Mobile G1.
