Meizu was initially the most famous brand of iPhone clones and now it’s bigger than that, it’s a pretty big Chinese brand and a maker of Android smartphones that might actually make a difference. And now they’re preparing a quad core handset that will change the market… apparently. Meet the Meizu MX:

We’ve heard about the MX for a while now, but never before have we seen some pictures of the handset. This quad core smartphone is coming sometime in the following months, most likely in 2012 and from what we can see here, it will sport a curved back and its design combines elements of the Xperia series with some HTC design language. Meizu has been very mysterious about this product, although they have promised something special…

We don’t even know if we’re to expect Android 4.0 on it, either as update or as initial OS. Last I heard, this new Meizu smartphone was sporting a 4.3 inch qHD screen, a quad core Cortex A9 processor, 16/32GB of internal memory and a minimal price tag of $625. Odds are that this model will never leave China, so don’t get too excited.
