If you have no plans two weeks from now, be sure to keep it that way, since on June 20th Microsoft has prepared a special event, where they’ll preview the looks and features of Windows Phone 8 Apollo. All the questions will be answered and maybe we’ll get to see some nifty prototypes of first devices running this OS.
I guess that the launch of the final product will be sometime this fall, as MS celebrates two years of Windows Phone existence. WP8 will bring dual core power to this ecosystem, plus 720p display support on Nokia handsets, something we’ve been waiting for a long time now. I’m sure that Samsung, HTC and Nokia will jump on this opportunity and give the public some prototypes to check out at the event from June 20th. Worst case scenario, we’ll get a list of features and a reference design…
Best case scenario? We’ll see a beautiful integration with Windows 8 and Xbox 360, at least three prototypes with different formats (full touch, touch and type, maybe side sliding QWERTY), but those are already the stuff of wet dreams for geeks. What do you think we’ll see two weeks from now? What’s the main Windows Phone feature that needs improvement?
