During the Xiaomi Mi4 launch event this week, we didn’t get the expected MIUI v6 unveiling and frankly speaking I saw that coming. A few days before the Mi4 launch I found a leakster talking about a September debut of the MIUI v6. Today we get more info…

miui v6

We already got to see its flat look here and now we know more. The latest rumors point towards a mid August release of the new software and microblogger @iLevon seems to know more. There will be a new feature set in MIUI, a new call feature (probably speed dial), intelligent alerts and notifications and an immersive notification bar. SMS chat integration is expected, as well as big screen optimization.

There will be a split screen feature included, activated with a special two finger gesture and multitasking will be taken to a new level. UI elements will be flat and icons will get a brand new design. Fast transitions will also be part of the experience and I hope we can also get new preinstalled apps, since MIUI never came with a big package.
