What’s more official than a Motorola smartphone popping up on Motorola’s website, with a launch date attached? I’m talking here about the Motorola Droid Bionic, a handset that will be released on September 8, as far as official information goes.

The Bionic already has an official Twitter account and in case you didn’t know, its specs were previously leaked, with the selling point being the 4G LTE connectivity. This means that Verizon is involved, of course… We’re dealing with a dual core 1GHz handset, with an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p video capture, a VGA front camera and Android 2.3.4 with custom Moto interface of the new generation (new Blur).

There’s also a 4.3 inch qHD display upfront, putting this model on par with the HTC Sensation. Add to that a HDMI port, Webtop capabilities and 4G LTE support. With all this going on, the phone looks like a potential hit, but does it have what it takes to differentiate from the Atrix 4G?
