Verizon has a big event scheduled today, possibly meant to announce a few Motorola Droid handsets. I’m talking about those recently leaked, that include the Droid Ultra, pictured below.
It has a bright red stripe on the back side, a racing stripe we’ve seen in previous shots. This is a Limited Edition phone, a Droid Ultra that will only come out for Verizon employees. This is seen as an upgrade of the Droid RAZR HD, but speculations say that this could be a Droid MAXX model. What this smartphone does is upgrade the predecessor to a higher definition display and expand the ruggedness.
Motorola and Verizon will put high stakes on the Moto X, but they won’t forget the Droid series. Verizon has a put a huge amount of money in promoting the series, with expensive ads, some of them sci fi, some of them looking like scenes from The Dark Knight. Expect more ads like these in the future and a launch of this device today.
