An anonymous source close to Motorola claims that the handset division of the American giant will lay off 50% of its staff. Moto’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions and Home & Networks Mobility won’t receive the same treatment.
What does this series of layoffs mean? Motorola will postpone handset launches and quit using Windows Mobile on its devices, choosing Google Android instead. Also, word’s out that Moto will miss the CTIA Wireless show in April, probably because it has nothing to introduce at its booth.
