The Chinese are lucky these days, since they’ll be getting the Motorola MT917 handset, a version of the Motorola Droid RAZR, that beefs up the waistline a bit and upgrades some of the specs. For one thing, this device will sport a 720p display and 13 megapixel camera.

Sadly, this device is not coming to the USA, limiting itself to China Mobile and its clients. The MT917 packs a 4.5 inch screen with HD resolution and its waistline is now 8.5mm instead of 7.1 like on the RAZR. A similar feat is the Kevlar shell and Corning Gorilla Glass protection of the screen. The handset works on China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA 3G service, so there’s little hope of ever seeing it in Europe and the USA. Look on the bright side: at least we have the Droid 4.

Expect a mid-December launch for the phone in China and you must know that it specs include a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, Android 2.3 and possibly enough internal memory to satisfy any user. There’s also the MotoCast app bundled with the handset and used to stream or download music and photos from the home/work computer.
