There was a time about 5 years ago when the Motorola RAZR models ruled the fashion and trends in mobile design… Now, the RAZR is back and this time it’s a Droid, according to the latest leaks. Also dubbed Droid HD/RAZR/Spyder, the new Motorola phone promises to be “faster than the iPhone 4S”.

Luckily, the specs for the new smarpthone have leaked and they include a very thin case, thinner than the iPhone 4’s, 1GB of RAM, a dual core 1.2GHz processor and support for 4G LTE. There’s also a 4.3 inch display in the mix, but without a resolution I can’t be baffled by it. The specs don’t impress me much, especially with the even better specced LG Optimus LTE out there…

To up the ante, Motorola would have to deliver an 8mm smartphone with a weight below 100 grams, a 720p screen, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p capture and Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Now THAT would be a RAZR to cut the competition in half. Rumors say that we should expect a splash-resistant coating and a “Kevlar case”, but till then all we have is the teaser below. The launch event of the phone will go down on October 18th:
