Just like last year, ASUS has a big series of ZenFone models ready for prime time all over the world and this fall brought them to most big regions. The ASUS ZenFone 3 already reached us, being reviewed in the 5.2 inch and 5.5 inch version and we found it quite solid. The ZenFone 3 Max is a battery phone version of it, a more affordable one, that has just reached USA. It’s available on Amazon for a bit over $200.

This is an unlocked handset that works on AT&T and T-Mobile, but not on Verizon or Sprint. The newcomer has midrange specs, but the core is the 4100 mAh battery, good enough for 20 hours of talk time or up to 18 hours of WiFi web browsing. Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Zen UI on top the phone can also be used as a power bank to juice up phones and tablets.

It comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back, a 13 megapixel main camera, a 5.2 inch 720p display and a quad core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s LTE here, dual SIM slots and a microSD card slot too. The case is made of plastic, unlike the metallic ZenFone 3 units. You can find the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max on Amazon right here.
