Today, the Japanese operator KDDI announced the new HTC J Butterfly, a phone that looks very similar to the One (M8) design language, but compared to the flagship model, this one offers waterproof IP5X certification.

HTC J Butterfly comes with a 5-inch Full HD display (1.920 x 1.080 pixels), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel camera on the back that offers a secondary depth sensor just like the one found on the One (M8).

There’s also a 2.700 mAh battery, LTE-A, NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. Unfortunately, the Boom Sound stereo speakers had to go away so the water certification to pop up. HTC J Butterfly will be available starting late August in three different colors: Indigo, Canvas Rouge and White.
