If Android’s instant messaging and chat solutions don’t suit you, there’s always the option of using Nimbuzz, that has just been made available via the Android Market. This app supports Skype, Yahoo Messenger, AIM, GoogleTalk, MySpace, Jabber accounts and clients, plus many others.
Nimbuzz for Android comes with a time sensitive UI, that detects the length of a press on a buddy’s name like this: press stronger and you start to chat, merely touch the name and you’ll open the profile of the contact. The app also comes with a smart buddy list layout, showing info in an intelligent way (avatar plus presence info, community icon and more).
You’ll also get home screen notifications alerts from the software, use clickable URLs and even auto reconnect, in case you lose the 3G or WiFi signal. Here’s the app in action in the video below:
