With all the excitement surrounding MWC 2013, it’s hard to forget what we’re actually expecting to see launched. Aside from a bunch of phablets, LG and Samsung hotshot phones, there’s also Nokia participating in Barcelona and they’ll bring their new flagship cameraphone with Windows Phone there. It has been leaked as the Nokia EOS, but today it may become the Lumia 1000…

Recently we’ve seen an increase in speculations regarding the next Windows Phone device from Nokia, that will be unveiled at this month’s Mobile World Congress together with a bunch of lower end models, I guess. What we didn’t know up until now was the family of devices the 41 megapixel Nokia cameraphone with WP8 would belong to. Now it seems that thanks to a China Mobile database leak, the name Lumia 1000 has been confirmed. Just so you know, China is a very solid market for Nokia Lumias, the 800 and 900 model generating serious queues when they launched locally.

Nokia was supposed to start an EOS line with the new 41 megapixel phone, but Canon kind of confiscated that name and especially related to a high end camera on a phone it wouldn’t look that nice. So, here’s what we know so far about the new EOS/Lumia: 4.3 inch curved glass HD display, 41 MP camera, 1080p video capture, dual core CPU with Adreno 320 GPU, Windows Phone 8.
