Close to the end of the year 2013 we’ve finally had the chance to score a Nokia Lumia 520 model for testing purposes. Everyone kept saying how cool the device is for being incredibly cheap and still packing some decent hardware. And today we unbox it!

When I accessed the Microsoft Store I was shocked to see this product priced at just $59 and I’m still thinking it was an error or something. That’s the price you pay for a little stylish handset with a plasticky removable case. It comes with a charger inside the box, manuals, a pretty short USB cable and a pair of headphones.

Nokia Lumia 520 measures 9.9 mm in thickness, weighs 124 grams and packs an IPS LCD screen with a 4 inch diagonal and a 480 x 800 pixel resolution. It also comes with 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, Windows Phone 8 and a 5 megapixel camera without LED flash. Inside there’s a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with a 1 GHz clock rate.

We’ll be back with a full review ASAP.
