Oplus is a Taiwanese company that gained some popularity in India, after launching a tablet called XonPad 7. Now they’re attacking the same market with a smartphone, the XonPhone 5, that can be seen below.
This is the company’s first phone and its debut is meant to take place during a special event in New Delhi this week. Its specs include a 5 inch 1280 x 720 pixel display, a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad core processor and 1 GB of RAM. There’s also 16 GB of storage, expandable via microSD and an 8 megapixel rear camera, as well as a 2 megapixel front facing shooter.
The Oplus XonPhone 5 has a 2000 mAh battery and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat. By the way, this is a dual SIM model, a trend that has been adopted by most handsets launched in India recently. We have no idea what the price will be, but speculations have mentioned the amount of $150, so this is a pretty affordable model. We can’t say if this model will also debut internationally or not.
