Yesterday we wrote about the fact that Taiwanese company Oplus was preparing the XonPhone 5 smartphone for launch in India and today said launch happens. The device is now available in this populous country, priced at $133.
For that price you get a 5 inch HD smartphone with Android 4.4 KitKat on board. The same company debuted in India a slate dubbed XonPad 7, with Android on board and the ability t make phone cals, plus a very good price. Back to the XonPhone 5, this model is launched locally via a partnership with Snapdeal. The device includes a OGS display with a pixel density of 320 ppi, a quad core 1.3 GHz MT6582 processor made by MediaTek and 1 GB of RAM.
Oplus XonPhone 5 also has a Mali 400 GPU, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot with support for an extra 32 GB of storage and a 2 megapixel selfie shooter. At the back there’s an 8 megapixel main camera with LED flash and Full HD video capture, as well as HDR, face detect, self timer and more. This phone is a dual SIM unit with a 2000 mAh battery.
