Oppo has just teased its presence at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, with the poster below, that hints both at a new device and at a new photo technology. The whole “5X” thing may refer to Oppo 5X models, but also to “5X zoom” maybe.

With the tagline “So Close You can Feel it” and “Go 5X Further”, it’s clear that photography is key here. We could see the 5X turned into a new phone series, focused on top notch cameras, able to do 5X optical zoom, or 5X clear zoom. The latest flagships released by the company were the Oppo R9s and R9s Plus, with 5.5 inch Full HD screens, Snapdragon 625 CPU and 4 GB of RAM, plus 6 inch screen, Snapdragon 653 and 6 GB of RAM respectively.

Those models stood out with 16 megapixel back and front cameras. Last year Oppo brought to MWC revolutionary technology, like the VOOC Super Flash Charge or the Smart Sensor image stabilization for cameras. They also debuted selfie-focused smartphones, like the F1, F1 Plus and F1s. Now we expect high end phones with Android Nougat, a large megapixel count and better Snapdragon CPUs.

We also don’t exclude an Oppo Find 9 debut.
