The battle for the thinnest smartphone in the world is one that has a new winner each couple of months. Once it was the Motorola Droid RAZR, then some Fujitsu model and then came Huawei with the Ascend P1 S. Finally, the Oppo Finder came out of nowhere with an incredible thickness of 6.65mm and now it’s available for preorder.
This device is available for $393, that’s not at all a big amount nowadays, considering other prices. The handset begins shipping in early July and comes with a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display. There’s also an 8 megapixel camera on board, a 1.3 megapixel front shooter and Android 4.0 ICS as the OS of choice. The camera does 1080p capture and while this is a REAL world’s thinnest phone, there’s a hypothetical thinnest phone, the ZTE Athena, that has only been teased.
That model is supposed to have a 6.2mm waistline, but we’ll learn more about it when it’s unveiled. So, you may want to save your money and wait for the ZTE unit…
