We’ve heard of a lot of phones sporting the Sony IMX 298 sensor, like the Xiaomi Mi 5, ASUS ZenFone 3, Huawei Mate 8, OnePlus 3 or the ZTE Nubia Z11. Well, apparently there’s a follow-up to that sensor, called Sony IMX 398 and it was just spotted on the official specs list of the Oppo R9s.
The device was recently released and it brings an impressive set of specs, including 4 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 625 CPU and 64 GB of storage. There’s also a 16 megapixel rear camera with the above mentioned sensor. It brings 1.12 micron pixels, F/1.7 aperture, optical image stabilization and upfront there’s also a 16 megapixel camera for selfies, but with lesser specs.
Oppo R9s also has fast charging and after 5 minutes of charge, it’ll offer 2 hours of calling. VOOC charge should also juice up your battery in just a few dozens of minutes. There’s a 3010 mAh battery also in the mix and the R9s Plus model jumps to a 6 inch screen, 6 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 653 CPU, plus a 4000 mAh battery. The R9s Plus keeps the same quality camera, that provides F/1.7 aperture, multi frame noise reduction and intelligent exposure.
R9s is priced at $415 and R9s Plus at $519. Speaking of inaugurating components, the R9s Plus also debuts the Snapdragon 653 CPU, never before used on another device.
