O2 UK has just announced the release date for Palm Pre, which is October 16th, just in time to compete with those Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets. The device is already available in the US and Canada, as you might already know.
Expect the webOS smartphone to be available via O2 directly, in stores or online, plus the carrier’s partners and retailers like Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U. O2 customers will have the option of getting a 2 year contract or an 18 month one at £44.05 or £73.41 per month, thus receiving the Palm Pre for free.
The handset is also available for free to business users with business tariffs of at least £30.91 per month, on 24 or 36 months contracts. O2 will also sell the Palm Touchstone Charging Dock for £44.11.
