Pantech has finally launched a new low-end handset, for those of you who don’t want to spend a bunch before Christmas. I’m talking about the C630 phone, available now on AT&T for $40 with a 2 year contract.

For this price you get a basic candybar with 3G support, aGPS, AT&T Navigator, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot and a 1.3 megapixel camera. There’s also AT&T Video Share/Mobile Music plus a music player with MP3, WAV, AAC+ and MIDI support on the specs list.

Regarding connectivity, you get quad-band GSM radio and the battery will last for about 5 hours (talk time) or 2 weeks (standby).
