We had a piece here covering the Philips I908, a new handset that was supposed to be a mini version of the Philips I928 model. We wrongly supposed that the teaser image below indicated the slimmest smartphone in the world, while in fact it only showed a slimmer model compared to the I928.

Today we learn more about this “Mini”, that comes with pretty good specs. The handset packs a Full HD display and an 8 core processor, plus it comes with an 8.8 mm thick body. It’s more compact than the I928 and its huge 6 inch screen and it’s more user friendly when it comes to operating with one hand. The newcomer has a 5 inch screen and a Mediatek MT6592 octa core processor, clocked at 1.7 GHz, as well as 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.

It includes a microSD card slot, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 5 megapixel selfie camera, as well as a main 13 megapixel camera. Philips I908 is a dual SIM dual standby device, packing a large 3000 mAh removable battery and the typical Philips tech that allows it to get 45 days of standby and 39 hours of continuous talk. This model will be available from July 21st, at least in China.
