Philips received TENAA certification this week for a brand new 4G midrange handset, the Philips S356T model. This one seems to be a pretty wide handset, with a black/gray color combo and relatively narrow bezels.
The device measures 8.8 mm in thickness and weighs 158 grams, which is quite hefty for a 5 inch phone. As usual, there’s probably good reason for the bulk, since Philips is known for its big battery devices. The phone has a TFT 720p display, quad band support and comes in champagne gold, among other colors. It also brings a quad core 1.5 GHz processor of unknown origin, probably a MediaTek.
There’s 8 GB of storage inside and Android 4.4.4 as the OS, plus a 2 MP front camera and an 8 megapixel back shooter. 1 GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, WiFi and GPS are also present here. The product will be sold on China Mobile and relies on a CMOS sensor for the camera.
