Philips has just announced the Xenium X501 handset for the Russian market, where it’ll retail for about $160. The most impressive feat of this model is its battery life, lasting for 16 hours of talk time and up to 2 months in standby mode.
Philips Xenium X501 uses the classic candybar form factor and it packs a 2.2 inch TFT LCD display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. There’s also a 2 megapixel camera on board, Bluetooth support, an MP3 player, FM radio with RDS and a microSD card slot.
As far as connectivity is concerned, you get GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz), GPRS and EDGE. The device weighs 129.2 grams, includes 60MB of internal memory, support for Java MIDP 2.0, an English-Chinese and Chinese-English dictionary, plus a currency converter.
