Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz MSM8660 dual core CPU has been impressing everyone with its benchmark results last month, surpassing the likes of TI OMAP 4430 (the CPU on LG Optimus 3D), the Tegra 2 and the Hummingbird. Now, we get to see the tech in action, courtesy of Qualcomm’s Mobile Development Platform videos.

The GPU is not to be neglected, as the Adreno 220 handles HTML5 video streaming, Flash video streaming and supports 1080p playback. The Mobile Development platform used for testing relied on a 3.61 WVGA multitouch display, the dual core asynchronous CPUs @ 1.5GHz, the Adreno 220 GPU and also packed a 13 megapixel camera and 1GB of RAM.

We’re not dealing with a commercial handset here, but rather a professional kit, meant for testing purposes. This kit costs $1,350 which is certainly no consumer price. We expect this platform to be turned into commercial products this summer, so we shouldn’t wait too long.
