In case you didn’t know, Viper is a famous automobile security system company, that has just introduced the SmartStart product line. This line includes an in-car hardware module with a mobile connection, that’ll allow the user to remotely lock, unlock or start the car, from anywhere on the globe.

You’ll also be able to pop the trunk open or hit the panic button, even from your iPhone. You’ll get the module attached to cars compatible with Viper systems for $300, or spend $500 for an all-in-one system, both products available at Best Buy. Viper will charge $30 for remote iPhone starting features, with the first year being free.

Also, Viper’s product will be compatible with the iPod touch, over a Wi-Fi connection and there’s even a similar solution coming from Android, a prototype called KEI.
