The software includes a few advanced features like slow motion recording and video editing. This may be the beginning of a new move to upstage Nokia from getting all the hype for its Windows Phone related software. The ATIV Camera app seems to be fully featured, offering options like Auto, Beauty Face, Best Photo, Best Face, Rich Tone (HDR), Eraser and Night Shot. Video recording options include Smooth motion, Slow motion and capturing images from recorded video.

Right now the app is for Windows Phone 8.1 only and it needs the upcoming firmware that Samsung will release in the coming weeks. This means you have to wait till Samsung releases the latest Windows Phone 8.1 firmware. Samsung ATIV S, ATIV SE and Ativ S Neo are expected to get WP8.1 officially, although Samsung hasn’t been offering that many details about that release.

Of course, there are people who installed the preview version early and can already play with the app, so here’s a download link.
