Samsung Mobile Display has just developed new AMOLED displays, that use color rich and bright organic display panels, featuring WVGA resolutions (800 x 480 pixels) at 300 PPI.
We learn that these panels can match the resolution of mobile LCDs, but they are four times clear than the screens used now on handsets, supporting a 400 x 240 resolution.
Also, Samsung’s newest creation is 40% more power efficient and we’ll probably see such displays on portable media players and phones, providing neat video and gaming experiences. No info about mass production just yet.
