After Samsung Galaxy Nexus was announced yesterday in Hong Kong, together with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s now time for the prices to leak. The first to come is one from Australia, courtesy of retailer Mobicity, that will sell the handset for $829.
I have to remind you that this is the first Android 4.0 HD display phone available internationally and that it comes with a 1.2GHz dual core CPU and a 5MP camera. The price is a bit high, but wait till the device reaches the carriers and you’ll see a totally different story… I’m guessing around $299 on operators such as Verizon with 2 year contract and lots of LTE love.
As far as the Aussie offer is concerned, Mobicity doesn’t offer an exact delivery date for the product, so they might be only speculating this time. Of course, the $829 price tag applies to the unlocked version of the handset, in case you were wondering. I guess that Google and Samsung will be the ones announcing when this device will be available, with November being the most likely time frame.
