Remember when everyone was hunting images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus? Among those pictures leaked there was also one with Verizon branding, much like the device pictured below. However in this case there’s no trace of Verizon branding, so where did it go?
The thing is that the image you see here has the name “Verizon_SCH-i515” on the official Samsung USA website, so that’s a pretty clear indication of where this model is headed. In the previous times I had the chance of seeing the Galaxy Nexus, it had just “Google” and “4G LTE” written on the back, nothing else. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, since the Nexus One and Nexus S also lacked carrier branding…
Google must be very fond of its Nexus series, as is Samsung now, so they’re trying to avoid any extra branding. Two companies must be enough here, so maybe a third one is perceived as too much by the companies. Well, just speculating here, so don’t take my word for it.
