With the iPhone 5 most likely debuting on October 4th, as every major tech site is reporting, the launch of the Galaxy S II on AT&T on October 2nd doesn’t surprise us at all. Samsung is the kind of company to pull such a stunt and capitalize on the launch of a rival in the following timeframe.
For Europeans this news means absolutely nothing, but the people in the US have been waiting for the Galaxy S II for many, many months now, especially on AT&T. This is the NFC-enabled version we’re talking about, with the same Super AMOLED 4.3 inch display and a price of $199.99 on 2 year contract, in case you’re interested.
The packages for this handset include a $15 a month one as the minimum. Expect a major sellout in about two or three days, considering this is actually the main contender for the “phone of the year” title at the time. Expecting a rival from Apple’s side ASAP!
