The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has just popped up on a Korean website, Olleh TV, under the codename SM-G906K. The device is a bit of an upgrade from the Galaxy S5 and it’s rumored to pack a metallic chassis this time.
This model is shown with a special protective case, that hides its design, as shown in the image above. It is expected that the newcomer will have a 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a Snapdragon 805 CPU and maybe 3 GB of RAM. The camera may remain unchanged, or at least the info about it is not out yet. If there’s one aspect where Samsung could make improvements, that’s the front selfie camera.
Samsung has the habit of announcing stuff without a big teaser or event, so they may go ahead and release this, together with the Galaxy S5 Active and Mini this summer. Worst case scenario they will come at IFA 2014 in Berlin, but no later than that. Don’t get too excited, because in the end the S5 Prime may be stuck in Asia alone…
