Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were announced today in India, together with their pricing on this market and the fact that they will be manufactured locally. The Galaxy S6 is priced at $802 in this country and the S6 Edge goes for $946.
Both models will hit the stores on April 10th, which is also the international store debut date and preorders open today. It appears that Samsung also involved the Indian R&D centers in the production process of new devices. For example, the three R&D centers in India were responsible with features like download booster, the browser and more.
Right now Samsung has two manufacturing facilities in India and those will start making the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge soon. It’s no wonder Samsung is getting closer to India, since Xiaomi has been expanding its market share in the country and needs to be countered. Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge both come with Quad HD 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screens, Exynos 7420 processors, 3 GB of RAM and 16 megapixel cameras with OIS.
The S6 Edge features curved screen edges.
