A few days ago we witnessed the debut of the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+, during a special event live streamed from New York. Now we already have the chance to play with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and you can check out its unboxing below.
This is basically a bigger Galaxy S6 Edge, now with a 5.7 inch diagonal and obviously keeping the curved screen edges. Priced at $815 on AT&T off contract, the handset comes in a 32 GB and 64 GB version. Its box is similar to the one of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and inside we find a manual, big charger with fast charging, USB cable, metal key for the SIM slot and headphones.
The headphones still remind me of the Apple Earpods, but with an extra pointy tip and they are the same type of earbuds that came with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. This dual curved edge phablet has the same specs as the Galaxy Note 5, including the Exynos 7420 octa core chipset, 4 GB of RAM and Quad HD 5.7 inch Super AMOLED screen. The same 16 MP camera is at the back and 5 MP shooter upfront.
The curved edge from the right now shows, aside from favourite contacts, favorite apps, that can be set up as you please. This model is thinner than the Galaxy S6 Edge by 0.1 mm, but also wider, taller and heavier. It has an aluminum frame and offers pretty much the same experience of the Galaxy S6 Edge, in a larger format. There’s no microSD card slot here and the main camera also gets a shutter speed option, going from 1/24000 s to 10 s, which wasn’t present on the Galaxy S6 Edge.
We’ll be back very soon with a full review of the smartphone!
