While most of the leaks we’ve seen recently from Samsung were related to the Galaxy Note 8 or the Galaxy J7 (2017), the dual camera version, today we finally get a change of tone. We are treated to some pics of the Galaxy S8 Active, this time hands on pics.

We can see the rugged phone in a variety of shots, with an even larger gallery available at the source link below. The handset is basically a more rugged Galaxy S8, that doesn’t quite seem to go all the way with the Infinity Display, settling for curved corners of the screen and that’s it. In some respects, it feels a lot like the LG G6, to be frank.

The Galaxy S8 Active has been certified by the FCC already and it’s said to be sold by AT&T exclusively, so there’s that. The pictures shown here also seem to reveal a design that feels like a big bumper case applied on top of the Galaxy S8 body. The handset is supposed to have wireless charging, of the Qi variety and we are expecting here a Snapdragon 835 CPU, 4 GB of RAM, a 3500+ mAh battery and a 12 megapixel back camera.

Water, dust and shock resilience should be here, plus the ability to withstand drops, vibration, humidity and radiation. It’s very likely that this product will stick to the States only.
