Samsung Galaxy S9 is leaking more and more often these days, making us believe that the rumors about a launch in January may be solid after all. Seeing it at CES 2018 would certainly be a bold move, but I’m guessing it’s still February/March thing. Today we get to see sketches of the upcoming flagship.
Samsung has midrange fish to fry in the meantime, like the Galaxy A5 (2018) model, which is expected to come in a matter of weeks, January 2018 at the latest. Samsung Galaxy S9 in the meantime is said to be manufactured starting next month. We see here that it’ll sport a dual back camera, plus a fingerprint scanner at the back, which has been moved from the previous iteration. These leaks come from Weibo and these are factory sketches of the machine.
Samsung Galaxy S9 is said to have a bigger diagonal and it seems to adopt a format similar to its predecessors. It has curved corners and curved sides, but the back side doesn’t seem to be covered with glass this time around. We take the leak with a grain of salt, especially since anyone can post on Weibo basically. We’ve already heard that the Galaxy S9 wasn’t about to integrate a fingerprint scanner within the display, so that checks out.
So in conclusion, so far we know this: the Galaxy S9 will be a dual camera machine, with a moved fingerprint scanner, narrow format and long body. It remains to be see if the camera sensors are upgraded from the Note 8 or not.
