Last month we found out through a patent application about Samsung’s desire to develop a new piece of technology, more precisely a smartphone with flexible display. Today, the US Patent and Trademark Office reveals a new application of the South-Korean company that covers the same concept of flexibility.
From the sketch above we can see that this device is a portable gadget that wraps up on the user’s hand just like a smartwatch or a smartband. Is revealed the fact that this device will comeback to its flat form after, moment when it can be used just like a regular smartphone for multimedia functions or phone calls.
If this idea will become real, we’ll have in our pocket a 2-in-1 device that can fulfill both the smartwatch and smartphone function. This concept is already found on tablets, devices that can convert into a notebook by using a bluetooth keyboard. However, this Samsung application is more complex, so the development of such product could take years.
