Samsung Omnia 2 is ready not only to reach Canada, but also China, via the local carrier China Mobile. We found out that the handset’s Chinese version will be a TDSCDMA one, with Windows Mobile 6.5 on board and also a bunch of tweaks as far as connectivity is concerned.

China’s biggest mobile operator will be welcoming Omnia 2 as Samsung i8180 Chai or Samsung i8180c, a handset that will keep its 3.7 inch AMOLED display, but it’ll sport a redesigned control pad.

The latter will also be more practical and the phone will come with CMMB support (China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting) and WAPI, a local version of Wi-Fi.
