Samsung has recently confirmed the existence of the Ultra Touch S8300 mobile phone, an uber-handset that packs multimedia features that would make any UMPC jealous.
Samsung Ultra Touch S8300 features support for HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE/GPRS connectivity, a 2.8 inches WQVGA AMOLED touchscreen display and an 8 megapixel camera with LED Flash, autofocus, face and smile detection, plus geotagging.
There’s also DivX and XviD support on the specs list, plus the option of recording 30 fps VGA video with the aid of the above-mentioned camera. S8300 packs FM radio with RDS, an audio player (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA compatible), Bluetooth A2DP, A-GPS and 80 MB of internal memory. The latter can be upgraded with the aid of microSDHC cards of up to 16 GB.
All of these wonderful features are packed inside a 110 x 51.5 x 12.7 mm shell and usability is enhanced by the upgraded TouchWiz interface, with support for mobile widgets.
