We have seen some spectacular flip phones over the year, mostly made by the likes of Samsung and LG, but also the occasional Sharp or Fujitsu model. Today we learn that there’s a new model in town, this time one that’s very powerful and good looking.
Samsung’s W2016 is the newcomer, codenamed (SM-W2016) and offering a premium design. It got certified in China earlier this month and brings dual 3.9 inch 1280 x 768 pixel Super AMOLED screens. You can even flip the device open and use the other screen with a keyboard. Inside we find the all powerful Exynos 7420 processor, as well as 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
At the back there’s a 16 megapixel camera and upfront a 5 MP shooter, specs shared with the Galaxy S6, just like the CPU and RAM. Another similarity is the metal frame and glass back. This flip phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, measures 15.1 mm in thickness and weighs 204 grams. It also has a 2000 mAh battery and fast charging, both wired and wireless.
Sadly, we don’t have a price tag yet.
